Wuchereria bancrofti or Filaria worm is also known as a member of a class of invertebrates belonging to the phylum Nemathelminthes. Gilig elongated shape of this worm, as the thread is called filaria. Have you ever heard of the disease elephantiasis (elephantiasis)? Visible patient's feet became swollen, why it happens?
Life Cycle
These worms live in lymphatic vessels in the legs. If too many, can obstruct the flow of lymph so that the feet become swollen. As adults, these worms produce eggs will then hatch into small worm boy called microfilariae. Furthermore, microfilariae circulate in the blood. These larvae can migrate to the small blood circulation under the skin. If at that time there was a mosquito bite, the larvae can penetrate the mosquito's gut wall and into the chest muscles mosquito, then after experiencing growth, the larvae will go to the piercer. If the mosquitoes that bite people, then people will be infected with this disease, and so on.
