Phylum Chordata is a group of animals, including vertebrates and some invertebrates like animals that have similar characteristics. All members of this group, at some point in their lives, have notokorda, hollow dorsal nerve cord, pharyngeal slit (pharyngeal slits), endostyle, and a muscular tail that passes through the anus. Vertebrates are the animals that have backbones. In the classification system, the vertebrate phylum Chordata subfilum of. Chordata includes those animals that have characteristics as follows:
