Avertebrata

Or the Invertebrata Invertebrate is a term that is expressed by the Chevalier de Lamarck to designate animals without backbones. Invertebrates include all animals except vertebrates (pisces, reptiles, amphibians, aves, and mammals). Examples of invertebrates are insects, jellyfish, hydra, squid, and worms. Invertebrates accounted for approximately 97 percent of all members of the kingdom Animalia.

Lamarck divided invertebrates into two groups: Insecta (insects) and Vermes (worms). But now, invertebrates classified into more than 30 sub-fila ranging from simple organisms such as sponges and flatworms to more complex organisms such as molluscs, echinoderms, and arthropods.

There are nine invertebrate phyla in the classification are:

Annelid
Arthropods
Coelenterata
Echinodermata
Mollusca
Nemathelminthes
Platyhelminthes
Porifera
Protozoa

Further research in the field of taxonomy suggests that many invertebrates are more closely related to vertebrates than with other invertebrates.
