Anthozoa

Anthozoa is a class of members of the invertebrates are included in the phylum Cnidaria. Anthozoa derived from the Greek anthos meaning flower, and zoon means the animal. Anthozoa means the animal that looks like a flower or flower animals, including sea anemones and coral animals. Anthozoa life as a polyp. Examples of the sea anemone is Metridium.

Body structure

Anthozoa short cylindrical body. At one end there is a gap mouth surrounded by tentacles that contain nematosista. The other end of the plate to attach themselves to one basis. Below the mouth of the esophagus are called the stomodeum. Throughout the stomodeum, on one side or on both sides there is a narrow channel called the ciliated and respiratory sifonoglifa which is the simplest tool. There is a cavity under the stomodeum gastrovaskuler divided into cubicles by partitions from the wall of the esophagus. On this screen there is an issue nematosista poison to paralyze their prey. Food in the form of small crustaceans and other invertebrates.

Classification

Based on the number of barriers in the body cavity, the class Anthozoa is divided into two subclasses, namely Hexacorallia (insulated six) and Octocorallia (sectional eight).

Hexacorallia

Hexacorallia has little tentacles that are sometimes branched. Besides having the tentacles, there Hexacorallia has six screens, each of which consists of two sheets. There is no order Hexacorallia lime, such as Metridium sp. (Sea rose). Most Hexacorallia colonize and form reefs, such as Fungia sp., Acropora sp., Oculina, Meandrina sp., And Epiactis sp.

Octocorallia

Octocorallia has eight tentacles that branch out like a feather and has eight screens. In addition, sifonogfila Octocarallia also has one ventral.

Octocarallia frame is made of lime and the parent substance. For example coral distilled (Tubipora musica), leather coral (Alcyonium sp.), Root bahar (Euplexaura sp.), And coral (Coralium Medea).
